miss nyla and her big personality

I was asked my friend Kristen to photograph her little girl nyla for some headshots.  I gotta tell you, she was a treat to photograph.  We had a grand ole time, even though it was raining.

eric and andrea's wedding

I shot Eric and Andrea's wedding a couple of weeks ago at the beginning of February at Whitestone Country Inn.  I was hoping for a little snow, but settled for an amazing 65 and sunny.  We had a wonderful time and I really love all of the details that they planned.

best in knoxville

I've been nominated as one of the best businesses in Knoxville by Fox 43.  If you wouldn't mind taking a minute and going to their website, I would appreciate your vote.  Just click HERE.  If you're a client, I would love it if you would write a few words of recommendation as well.  Thanks!

The Beelers

I got together with my friend Julie and her husband Josh and their daughter Maya back in January to get some shots in the snow.  They adopted their little girl Mya almost a year ago from Etheopia.  If you're in Knoxville, you should go by Obligato and let Julie know you saw her pics.  Maya is so incredibly cute.  Apparently she wasn't herself that day, but I had so much fun with her.  Although, it made it difficult to shoot because she wanted to play with me and didn't want me to have the camera!  At least she wasn't hiding from me!

One of the things that makes me laugh about maya is that she loves to shake her milk out on the floor for the puppies!

Maya has Julie's Disney figurines from when she was little.  I actually think that I had a couple of the same one.  Maybe Alice in Wonderland and the White Rabbit.  I can't remember, but they looked very familiar.

This is Maya trying to pull me away from taking pictures.

This is Julie's mom.  The shirt that she's wearing is very cool and I wanted to catch it.  The idea is to end extreme poverty in Africa by the year 2025.

This is their sweet puppy Oliver.  He was their first baby.

We were wrapping up just in time for a nap.  I love these shots of them cuddling on the couch.

After Maya was for sure out, I snagged a couple of shots of Julie and Josh.  Thanks for letting me hang out guys!

incredibly powerful

I'm currently down in Atlanta. My parent's church, Buckhead Church, is starting a photographers project and I'm really excited about it. The first meeting was tonight and it was really great to meet a bunch of new people and run in to some old friends. This is going to be a really great project. If you live in Atlanta and are interested, CLICK HERE. The site's still a work in progress.

That's not why I'm writing though. Zack Arias hosted the meeting at his studio in Decatur. I kept hearing everyone talk about this video that he posted this week, so I came home and checked it out. It's incredible. I think that he has said a bunch of things that many people are afraid to say out loud. I applaud you Zack. You've hit the nail on the head. You guys just have to watch it. CLICK HERE to go to his blog post. It's about 5 or 6 minutes. Watch the whole thing, it's worth every second.
