now more than ever is a time for celebration

I will preach this till the day I die.  Your wedding day is supposed to be the most fun you have EVER had.  I'm sure that most of you have seen this video, but I think you need to watch it again. Thank you, Jill and Kevin, for having fun on your wedding day and reminding us that it is a time for celebration.

raj+carolyn=wedding (3 of 3)

Here is the final installment from Raj and Carolyn's epic wedding. After the Hindu ceremony, there was about 2 hours scheduled so everyone could change for the reception. No lie, I think the reception went on for 5 hours! Once the dancing started, no one wanted to stop. For the first time EVER, once our time was up at midnight, Katie and I put our cameras down and danced with everyone else till the hotel staff made us all leave. We shot over 20 hours over the course of the weekend, and we loved spending quality time with everyone.

These are a couple shots of Raj and Carolyn watching the same day edit that the guys from StillMotion put together.

There were a ton of vendors that worked together to make this adventure possible.

Nirjary and Snehal with Kis3 Event Planning made everything possible. They not onlyhelped plan and coordinate everyone, they also did Carolyn's hair and make-up for all of the Indian events.

The Kriegers

Adam and I went to college with the Kriegers.  They now have Lila, who is one of the happiest babies ever.  We were friends instantly.  She's turning 1 in August, so we squeezed in a shoot to celebrate.

RAJ+CAROLYN=WEDDING (2 of 3)

This is part 2 of what I've now determined is going to be 3 parts from Raj and Carolyn's wedding.  There are going to be several collages in this post because there are so many pictures.

These are from the Garba, which is a celebration the night before the Hindu ceremony.

Everyone dances around in a circle.  The Bride and Groom start the circle and it goes pretty slow.  As more and more people join in, they start to dance faster.  It's pretty cool because everyone has their different versions of the dance.  Then a few dancing sessions in, everyone starts dancing with sticks.  It was really cool.

Now, to all the events on Sunday.

These shots are from the Barat.  Traditionally, the groom and his friends and family parade from his home to the bride's home for the ceremony.  So since we weren't going from house to house, they paraded around the parking lot.  It was incredibly hot, but so much fun.

Once they reach the bride's home, he's met by her family and a series of symbolic tests to prove that he is worthy to marry their daughter.

The officiant of the ceremony was really great.  He explained everything that was happening so all of us first-timers understood what was going on.

email issues

Hey everyone!  I wanted to let you know that if you've been trying to email me the past couple of days, it has probably either gotten bounced back or I can't get to it.  I've been upgrading my system and I can't seem to get to my inbox.  I'm hoping that we'll be able to have it fixed by tomorrow morning.  What a great time for my email to be down!!!
